Reunion was this last Saturday 4/24/2010 at Ross Bridge. We had about
60 in attendance including spouses. I have
attached a group picture of all the members there.
We had a great time at Ross Bridge, beautiful place
for a party, great friendship, great friends, great
food. You could tell a lot of hard work went into
the planning, decorations and the weather held off
beautifully.
We had friends from as far away as California and as
close as Hoover, Vestavia, and of course Bessemer
and Hueytown. It was so good to see familiar faces
as well as new ones. Hope all enjoyed the picture I
attached and see if YOU can pick out someone you
know. And if we can help you with your reunion,
several of us have lunch together on the 1st
Wedneday of the month at the Golden Corral on Lorna
Road in Hoover. Join us anytime from 11:30am to
1:00/1:30pm. Enjoy!

THIS WAS SENT FROM Teresa Johnson.
ANN CROTWELL (CLASS OF 1961)
I am so saddened to hear this news about Ann
Crotwell. It's so hard to believe that Ann
- so vivacious, so full of fun - isn't here
any longer. I'm so glad I had a chance to
visit with her, to laugh and to hug her at
the Ladies Reunion a couple of years ago.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to ya'll
close friends of hers who saw her often
these past years. I know you will miss
her. Teresa |

First United
Methodist
Church
of
Bessemer
The Methodist Annual Conference has decided to close the
First United Methodist Church of Bessemer located on
Arlington Avenue
and
19th Street,
effective June, 2010. This action will result in another
end to
Bessemer
traditions; the church was established in 1887.
The church attendance had dwindled to about 45 for
Sunday morning services. There will be a final memorial
service at a date to be announced.
This is the church we used for all our BHS graduation
functions......thanks ..... Carol

After 123 years of service (founded in 1887), the last
service of the First United Methodist Church of Bessemer
will be held at 10:30 am on Sunday, March 7, 2010. All
of the living former pastors will make a brief speech
along with other activities. A reception will be held in
the Fellowship Hall after the service. Refreshments will
be served.
As a lifetime member of this church, I hope a large
group of BHS graduates will attend the final service
even if you were not a member.
