: A drive in with 26 flavors of ice cream or something like that on the corner of 4th ave & 16th or 17th street.

: Vance Elementary School.

: Big (they seemed big when I was young) beautiful churches with high ceilings, dark wood beams & beautiful stained glass windows with awesome sounding pipe organs.

: Does anyone else remember any of this?

:Sure do remember Mr. Peterson. And, it was Miss Griffin that dated Mr. Turnipseed...married him too, I heard.

  - Mr. Peterson later became principal at Jess Lanier and worked for many years with the Birmingham Boys Club. I do not think Mr. Turnipseed married Ms. Griffin.
